COVID MEASURES

A chaperone system will be in place for both rehearsal and performance weekends. This is the industry standard procedure. All performers will be signed in and out at the external dining room doors.

No parents or guardians, unless designated chaperones or helpers, are allowed inside the building at any time unless you hold a valid ticket for a performance.

All cars must enter the site through the main gate and drive very slowly down the right hand side of the school building to the field. All cars must park on the field. There will be no entry allowed through main front door of the school. From the field, it is a short distance to the dining room external doors.

There will be a strictly enforced one way system in operation – in through the external doors of the dining room, through to normal entrance to theatre and exit theatre via doors to road.

Information relating to performer requirements, including arrival times for rehearsals, is here.

Please note the following amendments to these details:

·         There will be no curtain call bows for the Ballet to Broadway shows on Saturday, therefore once a child has finished dancing they may be collected unless their parent is in the audience. In this case they will, of course, be looked after.

·         Arrival times for the Ballet to Broadway shows on Saturday are:

First Half Performers – arrive 1PM and 5PM

Second Half Performers – arrive 2PM and 6PM

PERFORMERS

·         Performers must not swap or move from their allocated changing rooms.

·         Children arriving for rehearsal of Grand Finale only, and on Presentation Afternoon, must arrive fully ready in their uniforms

·         Performers must arrive for rehearsals and performances ready in their first costume, with make-up and hair done. Costumes must be fully covered with JMDS hoodies if you have them, or other suitable clothing that can be easily removed

·         Performers are permitted to bring drinks and snacks;

·         All costumes must be named  and put into a named covered hanger. If you have a suit cover hanger, these are ideal. This is due to chaperones having many costumes to manage;

·         Children will be dropped off at the dining room external door to chaperones, signed in and then taken to their changing area

·         For departures, children will be brought to the dining room external doors, signed out & handed over;

·         No under 16s allowed outside without their chaperone.  They may spend time outside but only if accompanied.  Younger ones will need to be taken to the toilet.

·         No eating in costume

·         Students to bring minimum belongings with them.

·         Others will arrive no later than 2.30, ready for Grand Finale and be left with chaperones and teachers to line up.

·         With regards to Presentation Afternoon, some pupils have tickets to watch the first half; they should do so fully dressed and ready in their uniforms for the Grand Finale;

AUDIENCE

·         Face coverings are mandatory at all times – except when seated for a performance – unless exempt. Those exempt must display proof of exemption;

·         Hand sanitiser will be provided but please bring your own supply;

·         Please follow the instructions of marshalls and signage at all times;

·         All arrivals must scan the QR code displayed, or sign in on the sheet provided;

·         There is a strict one-way route from the dining room external doors, to the internal dining room doors and theatre entrance in the corridor. Exit from the theatre is via the doors on to the road only;

·         Social distancing must be observed at all times and this will inevitably lead to delays; your patience is appreciated

·         There are no refreshments on sale

·         You are welcome to bring drink (but not food) for consumption in the theatre but please take all rubbish home with you;

·         The interval will be kept to a minimum with only those requiring the toilet permitted to leave the theatre

·         This will be managed by allowing the audience who wish to use the toilets to leave and return via the theatre door nearest the toilets

·         We will allow one hour before performances start for admission and seating in the theatre

·         Use of toilets to kept to an absolute minimum and a “one in – one out” policy will be in force

·         Programmes will be on sale at the entrance to the theatre at the price of £1.50, please bring correct money

·         Exit doors at the top of the theatre will remain open at all times for ventilation.
