Some ISTD Syllabi work alongside free dance work to improve technique and syllabi knowledge (Week 1)
Fun Summer School learning dances for end of week show plus fun activities, craft & games (Week 2)
Time for private tuition

Who’s invited? Everyone, including non-JMDS pupils. Dancers from everywhere are welcome aged from 4-18 years.
Dress code: Students don’t have to wear JMDS uniform, but they must wear suitable dancewear: leotard, tights, etc. Hair styled as if for a normal dance class, please.
What’s involved in Summer School Week 1?
A much-needed chance to improve technique in ballet and modern with free work and some syllabus work to get a head start for September.
What’s involved in Summer School Week 2?
Lots of ideas from our teachers for a great week with varied & fun classes, for 4 age groups. Body Conditioning, Drama, Singing, Street Jazz, Quiz, Modern & Ballet, Musical Theatre & Friday Show. There will be some sort of craft or art activity & some games for younger children. This is always a popular week with JMDS students & if the weather is nice, we have use of the grass and play areas of the school where the pupils can have their games/quizzes & tuck times.
Summer School Week 2 Show + medals! Don’t forget that all Week 2 pupils will be presented with a special medal after our summer school show on Friday 12th August at 3.30pm for parents and friends to watch. All pupils should attend for the whole day from 10am on this day, as there will be two rehearsals. Lunch can be purchased or brought along with students on this day. Simple, basic, cheap costumes may be required for the end of week display.
Tuck shop! Drinks, sweets, cakes, hotdogs, ice lollies & snacks will be for sale very day. Bring pocket money in a named purse. Tuck shop is always cause for major excitement! We will help little ones with their pocket money.
JMDS Picnic & Theatre Trip 2022: Thursday 11th August, £61.50. Coach from Hobbs Hill Wood School at 11.45am to a London park for a picnic, then on to the Dominion Tottenham Court Road to see the matinee performance of Grease, The Musical featuring Peter Andre as Teen Angel. Family & friends welcome.
