Entry deadline is 1st October and no late entries can be accepted
The programme will be sent out by 8th October
One form per household – groups to be entered by one person in the group
Please list the names and ages of all performers in groups and make sure every group has a title

Music files must be MP3 and clearly labelled with the name of the performer and the item e.g. Hollie Bishop – Ballet Solo

TICKETS

Seats will not be assigned but tickets will be required to enter
Tickets will be available at the door, depending on availability

AWARDS
There are two sections to enter under:
Medal section: self–choreographed solo and duet items
Choreography section: items that are choreographed by another student
Solo and duet items will be awarded Bronze, Silver or Gold medals
The highest marking solo/duet item choreographed by another student will receive an award
An award will be given to the choreographer of the highest marking group dance – medals can be purchased for the dancers for £2.50
If choreographing for another student or group, the choreographer must enter the item
Group items are marked out of 30
RULES
The group section is decided by the average age of all the dancers and the choreographer
Age is taken from 1st September
Choreography Competition age sections:
Junior – Average age 12 and under | Senior – Average age 13 and aboveSolo ‘All round performer’ will be awarded in both sections for the dancer who has accumulated the greatest number of points
Gold – 5 points | Silver – 3 points | Bronze – 1 pointOnly one item can be entered per genre, per person
Genres to enter under are: ballet, tap, modern, song & dance, drama, character, song, contemporary/lyrical, acro, and commercial
Costumes are required and make-up is optional (students will not be marked on these)
The age of the student will be printed in the programme for the judges’ consideration

TOP TIPS
Make sure to lift your eyeline and use facial expressions.
Make full use of the stage
Make sure to think about technique when dancing: stretch your legs and point your toes!
Hold your ending position for 3 counts before you curtsy or bow
Make sure to stand at the front of the stage for song and drama items
Remember your JMDS smiles and have a great time!
